The 1855 Society honors the vision and generosity of individuals and families who have made transformational contributions to the Bloomington-Normal YMCA Foundation. Named for the founding year of the YMCA movement in the United States, the Society recognizes those who uphold that legacy through substantial and lasting support.
With the Y, you're not just a member of an association, you're part of a cause with a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, improving health and well-being, and supporting our neighbors. The 1855 Society was established to recognize individuals who remember the Y in their estate plans, make an outright gift to the YMCA Endowment Fund, or establish various kinds of legacy gifts to pave the way for those who follow.
Your commitment can be an outright gift or a pledge spread over up to five years—for example, a $25,000 Legacy Circle gift can be fulfilled with $5,000 per year.
Recognition Requirements
- Remember the YMCA Foundation in their will or estate plan OR
- Make a gift of pledge at one of our membership levels.
